Clever Ideas That Will Make Camping Easier and More Fun!

By Woods team

The entire camping activity needn’t be overwhelming or time-consuming. If you have ever camped with kids before (or even without kids) then you know how much planning and prep work it can take.

Here are a few tips to make your camping experience more delightful for you and your family.

Pack only essential items

Instead of over packing, make a list of items that are essential for easy camping. Make sure you categorize the list as camp set up, food, toiletries and miscellaneous. This way you will not miss out on important items.

Also, you don’t want to get lost in the middle of the journey, so make sure to have GPS navigation all set. If you are booking camping in resorts feel free to check the brochures and note down the essential items to be carried based on the weather conditions.

Play Games

What better time to play games than while camping? There aren’t as many distractions like televisions and computers. Games are entertaining and promote cooperation and family bonding.

Card games are perfect for camping. Cards are easy to pack and can be slipped into backpacks for easy access. You can play Hangman, Tic-Tac-Toe, and Dots if you carry a paper and a pen. For adults, games like charades are fun and require no item at all.

When you get settled in at the campsite, don’t forget to pack a list of camp rules and games for kids. Kids and campgrounds go together perfectly, as long as a few safety rules are in place. Make sure kids know the following in the camp kitchen, sleeping, and campfire areas:

  1. Ask a parent before exploring a campground.

  2. Ask before using any sharp objects like knives.

  3. Turn off flashlights or other light sources after using to save batteries.

  4. Never run around the campfire.

Encourage the kids to observe the environment and ask questions related to nature. Camping is a proven activity for both adults and kids to be more connected to nature. Make the most of your moments and don’t forget to take lots and lots of pictures!
