The two natural caves known as Edakkal Caves are situated in Wayanad, close to Ambalavalayal, above Ambukuthi Mala. It is believed that the Jain Temple in Sultan Bathery dates back to the 13th century AD. The temple's architecture is heavily influenced by the Vijayanagar architectural style of the past. It was constructed with enormous, intricately carved granite pillars. The interior of the temple has a few lovely carvings, but the exterior is plain.
